Abstract
Background: The Side Bridge Test (SBT) is a reliable method for assessing trunk muscle endurance; however, data on its performance remain limited in Vietnam. Objective: To evaluate Side Bridge Test (SBT) holding time among students at Hong Bang International University and to examine its association with selected clinical characteristics. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 119 students aged 19 - 39 years. Results: The median holding time for the right and left SBT was approximately 50.77 seconds and 49.83 seconds, respectively, with no significant difference between sides. Male participants demonstrated significantly longer holding times than females (p < 0.001), whereas no significant differences were observed with respect to low back pain history, physical activity level, or body mass index. Additionally, SBT holding time showed a weak-to-moderate positive correlation with height. Conclusion: SBT holding time among students reflects a relatively symmetrical trunk muscle endurance between sides.
