Introduction: Patients’ knowledge about arteriovenous fistula (AVF) plays an important role in preventing complications, prolonging AVF lifespan, and improving the quality of life for those undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Objective: To assess the knowledge of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients regarding arteriovenous fistula at the Hemodialysis Unit of Thong Nhat Dong Nai General Hospital, in 2025. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 373 patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis with AVF (2 - 3 sessions per week). Results: The majority of participants were female, mostly in the middle-aged (45 - 59 years) and elderly (≥ 60 years) groups. Among them, 81.0% had good knowledge, while 19.0% had poor knowledge. Factors associated with knowledge level included age, duration of dialysis, and the presence of a family companion during treatment. Conclusion: Most CKD patients (81.0%) demonstrated good knowledge about arteriovenous fistula. The main factors related to knowledge level were age, dialysis duration, and family support.
